The Greek slang word "magga" or "manga" depending on which regional dialect you use, is the singular noun of a real cool guy.
Led by Kyriakos Metaxas, son of Evangelos Metaxas of the legendary Trio Bel Canto, Magges is a six piece band with a rich, traditional sound. They draw their repertoire from traditional Greek pop songs of the 50's and 60's as well as original arrangements of old, obscure "rembetika" songs of the 20’ and 30’s. Dual bouzouki melodies and three part vocal harmonies give them an exciting musical presence.
Often featuring a belly dancer, Magges performs at weddings, baptisms, dinner/dances, fundraisers and private parties. Providing all your Greek dance needs - kalamatiana, syrta, zembekika, tsamika, tsiftetelia, hasapika, hasaposervika, ipirotika, kritika, karsilamas, aftalika - Magges will make any event a memorable one.
Featuring Nick Mandoukos - bouzouki, harmony vocals
Stelios Antonakos - guitar, harmony vocals
Susan Mitchell - violin
Ken Forrest - bass, harmony vocals
Zaharis Kalaitzis - percussion
